The Coddenham Centre while busy with a choice of nearly twenty activities, doesn’t stand still!
Some recent small changes to our rather tired bowling green, has caused some speculation.
Although reported elsewhere earlier this month, we’ve at last removed our tatty rabbit resistant fencing, mulched and reseeded the edges and it’s all looking much more presentable. The annual scrub of the bowling ‘ green’ by Ray Collins, Andrew MacPherson & Alan West, also helped. Our thanks too go to Gail & Lawrence, Dave Wythe, Ian Thompson and Eastwood Tree services for their help.
So will it become a block of flats? Certainly not! We’ll hopefully share some preliminary thinking for comment later this year as how we might make a better more varied use of the space, for the benefit of all.
Last month, our huge floor space was re-surfaced in the nick of time after some years of neglect. It was becoming dangerous and it is now fit for purpose and protected at for least another five years.
Meanwhile, with another (environmental) eye on the future, it looks we are on target to realise our replacement hot water system and a further reduction in the use of fossil fuels, with the kind support of Mid Suffolk District Council and Viridor Credits. More details on this further step forward, will follow next month.
