Many thanks to all those who supported the launch of the St Mary’s Church appeal on Saturday.
The talk by Roy Tricker, the exhibition by the History Club and the opportunity to see Church artefacts not normally on display, followed by a soup lunch was enjoyed by around 60 people who generously contributed nearly £500 to start the appeal for the repairs required at our beautiful Church.
The West window of the Church is the main area requiring extensive repairs. There are 500 ‘quarries’ (small diamond shaped panes of glass) in the window. On Saturday we launched a ‘Sponsor a Quarry’ campaign. Each donation of £5 or more will help to preserve the window for the future. If you would like to sponsor a ‘quarry’ please use the QR code below or contact the treasurer – tim.thomas100@btinternet.com
Thanks to Georgie for the photograph of the window.
