Kids gone back to school? Time on your hands? Want to do something a bit different?
Would you like to meet more people, learn new skills, help your community and maybe boost your CV?
Coddenham Community Shop needs more volunteers! If you could spare a few hours once or twice a week, we’d love to hear from you.
Our multi-award-winning village shop is slowly getting back to ‘normal’, after a difficult few months for us all. Sadly, some of our stalwart volunteers are not yet ready to return.
We have all sorts of exciting plans, including eventually re-opening our lovely Coffee Stop and extending our opening hours but, to do so, we need more people! Serving in the shop is obviously a key role, but we have other opportunities too. We are aiming to move to a more flexible shift pattern with, possibly, a three-hour shift pattern, rather than our current 4-hour ones.
We’d particularly like to reflect our community by having more teenagers and younger adults in the team. It’s fun and a great way to meet people, both local and from further afield – we get a lot of visitors calling in. You will have the opportunity to learn new, transferable skills, such as operating a modern web-based till system and gaining accredited Food Hygiene qualifications. All training is free.
