Rod and Tracy represented the Community Shop volunteers at the award ceremony for the Plunkett Foundation 2021 Rural Community Business Awards.
The Plunkett Foundation is the national charity that supports rural communities across the UK to tackle the issues they face through community business.
The shop was nominated for an award in the “Rural Vision” category, recognising in particular our efforts to work with and support local suppliers and businesses – and a real vote of confidence for all our volunteers, supporters and customers.
The final winners were announced at the awards ceremony in London, hosted by Dame Prue Leith, on 25th November, and we are very pleased to say that the Community Shop was runner up. Well done to Bliss, the committee members and volunteers who work so hard to ensure that the shop is stocked with lovely local products helping to keep food miles down and provide a vital service to the local community.
The runners up certificate will be proudly displayed in the shop and you can see Rod and Tracy with Prue Leith in the photograph above.
