Your Community Shop has recently sought clarification under the Freedom of Information Act, on the number of traffic disruptions through Coddenham and surrounding areas.
The enquiry asks for the number of disruptions since September 2019 as the shop battled a wet winter, then COVID19. To quote from the enquiry ‘
As up to 60% of the shop’s business is from passing trade, this has been – and continues to be – a massive problem. It appears that closures are not well co-ordinated, are sometimes put on and maintained for days when no work is happening and, in some cases, put on, left for some days and then taken off again with no work being undertaken at all. There have also been occasions when, due to poor signage, the road has been signed as ‘closed’ when, in fact, it is actually open for a large part, or even all, of the stretch in question.
The disruption of course affects the entire community and CCRG thought the response would perhaps be of interest to all.
