Nearly 150 people attended Thursday’s beacon lighting in Coddenham to herald the start of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Our thanks to Sybil Gayfer for lighting duties and to the Day Foundation for securing the impressive beacon for permanent use by Coddenham plus the Gardemau Trusts for welcome drinks on the night.
Elsewhere, thank you everyone who has ‘bought out their bunting’. MSDC Councillor John Whitehead who joined the celebrations, commented that The Coddenham Centre would win a competition for the longest piece of bunting!
Well done team(s) and to Red House who have so tastefully decorated Crown Corner. The Community Shop window is also looking the part!
Final preparations are underway for the Big Lunch. Weather forecast continues to be unsettled, there will be some cover available, but with 250+ people fully booked for lunch and lots of entertainment, do come prepared for a likelihood of wet weather. Full Programme Here
The weather will not, however, dampen the Coddenham Jubilee spirit!

Enjoy the Jubilee!
